About the role

Job Description

We’re currently recruiting full‑time and part‑time Care Assistants to support clients in their own homes during night shifts at St Barts in Rye.

If you’re kind, enjoy working with people, and want to make a real difference, this could be the perfect role for you. No experience is needed — just a caring attitude and a willingness to learn.

St Barts is an Extra Care facility designed to support independent living. Residents have their own space and the freedom to come and go as they choose, with our team on hand to help with day‑to‑day needs.

Night rates are £13.71 on weekdays and £13.71 on weekends. The overnight wake rate is £13.71 for both weekdays and weekends.

As a Care Assistant, you may be responsible for:
  • Providing personal care, including washing, dressing and continence support
  • Managing medication
  • Preparing hot meals
  • Carrying out light domestic tasks
  • Offering companionship, reassurance and a sense of safety
Shift Details

Shift pattern: Night shifts from 9:30pm to 7:30am, including alternate weekends

Benefits include:
  • Enhanced pay on bank holidays
  • Block/shift pay
  • Holiday pay and a pension scheme
  • Free DBS/PVG, company mobile phone and uniform
  • Access to the BHN Extras benefits platform and Blue Light Card discounts
  • Savings on driving lessons, fuel, insurance, maintenance and cycle hire
  • Enhanced maternity (12 weeks full pay), paternity and parental leave
  • Career development opportunities, including the Care Certificate and NVQs — with 50% of our salaried roles filled internally
  • Wellbeing support, including an employee assistance programme, mental health first aiders, a healthcare cash plan, free eye tests and a contribution toward glasses
  • A £400 referral bonus through our Care Friends scheme

If you’re looking for a truly rewarding role where your presence brings comfort and reassurance, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note:

This role requires a DBS check, and applicants must have the right to work in the UK. We are proud to be an equal‑opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
