The Role As an International Accountant, you support the accounting and compliance for a portion of our international subsidiaries. You will work with other members of the business and the Finance Team in a dynamic environment to determine the accounting treatment for unique transactions and recording related journal entries. In this role, you will collaborate with outside service providers (in-country/local auditors, bookkeepers and tax advisors), partners within the Finance and Legal teams, and partners from around the business to ensure financial and related compliance in-country. You will assist with supporting the preparation of financial statements for a number of international subsidiaries, including performing review of the general ledger activity and accounting conclusions for these subsidiaries. You will be empowered as a key player of our team to challenge the status quo, proactively seek to improve processes, and work collaboratively across Finance and the business. If you're constantly looking for ways to challenge yourself and are outcome-driven and passionate about international accounting and reporting, this role is for you.Supporting the accounting and reporting processes for assigned countries from beginning to end, including recording of journal entries, reconciliations for monthly close and year end, preparation and review of financial statements, and coordination of tax, audit, census filings and business bidding requests.
Prepare support for maintaining US GAAP consolidated reporting and reconciliation to local GAAP reporting.
Support the global coordination with local external bookkeepers, auditors, tax, and legal teams to ensure compliance with all reporting requirements.
Ensure accurate and timely recording, reconciliation and application of inter-company transactions.
Identify and implement opportunities for automation and process improvement, including engage cross functionally on such initiatives.
Assist on projects and ad-hoc assignments as needed.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Excellent project management across multiple time zones, with a track record of handling multiple complicated and cross-functional projects and meeting often competing deadlines
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with excellent, proactive communication and interpersonal skills, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and risks
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently within a global cross-functional team
Sound judgment and composure in high-pressure situations with an ability to ground decisions in data to ask and answer questions that move the business forward; demonstrate discretion and integrity in all interactions
Ability to solve problems, including non-traditional or undefined problems, creatively and analytically, leveraging data when needed
Experience with NetSuite and Workiva highly desirable
Chartered Accountant or CPA preferred
Public Accounting experience with a Big 4 firm is a plus
3+ years of experience in the finance and/or accounting space within a US multi-national company or Big Four public accounting firm
Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
